The Network joins the rest of the world in commemorating the International Youth Day
under the global theme, “Intergenerational solidarity: creating a world for all ages.”. This
year’s theme awakens the world on the need to build the present without jeopardizing the
needs of the future general by fostering equality and inclusivity at all levels. The United
Nations Secretary General Youth Day message that, the world needs to leverage the full
potential of all generations. Solidarity across generations is key for sustainable development
and that we must collaborate to foster successful and equitable intergenerational relations
and partnerships to ensure “no one is left behind,” is key in making sure that young people
are involved in all matters that bears their future towards achieving the sustainable goals.
