FSNT’s  mandate  derived from its objects is to empower female students in  institutions of learning  to effectively participate in decision making structures and processes through various capacity building initiatives, including but not limited to leadership development, lobbying and advocacy, civic education and governance, represent female students in TEIs through various initiatives aimed at protecting and promoting their individual and collective rights as young women within tertiary institutions, create networks of female students within institutions of higher learning in order to promote exchange learning, information gathering and dissemination, and to  create and sustain a network of organizations that will respond to other needs of female students that FSNT  has no capacity to address.
